Tutto quello che c’è da sapere sull’arena di Basilea che ospiterà Eurovision 2025. Storia dell’architettura brutalista che si prepara a ospitare la nuova edizione del concorso musicale più importante d’Europa. 

Come da tradizione, anche nel 2025 l’Eurovision Song Contest sarà ospitato dal Paese uscito vincitore dall’ultima edizione del concorso musicale. Con la vittoria del cantante svizzero Nemo, quindi, la scelta della sede ospitante è ricaduta sulla Svizzera che, tra il 13 e il 17 maggio 2025, manderà in scena lo spettacolo sul palco allestito per l’occasione nella St. Jakobshalle di Basilea.

Oltre a essere una delle arene più all’avanguardia del Vecchio Continente, questo palazzetto dello sport è anche un raffinato esempio di architettura brutalista. La costruzione è infatti avvenuta negli anni Settanta su un progetto di Giovanni Panozzo elaborato, in realtà, una decina di anni prima.

Scopriamo allora qualcosa in più sulla struttura che si prepara ad essere il centro della musica europea nel bel mezzo della primavera.

La storia della St. Jakobshalle. La storia della St. Jakobshalle di Basilea inizia ufficialmente nel 1956, anno in cui il Gran Consiglio del Canton Basilea Città avanza per la prima volta la richiesta al governo cantonale di poter edificare una nuova struttura polivalente. Il progetto viene così affidato all’architetto Giovanni Panozzo che, nel giugno 1961, presenta la pianificazione preliminare.

Per l’inizio del cantiere, tuttavia, sarà necessario attendere altri dieci anni. È solo il 6 febbraio 1967, infatti, che l’amministrazione locale approva i lavori e indice un referendum che ottiene il 57,3% dei voti favorevoli. A seguito di ulteriori ritardi, il permesso di costruzione viene infine concesso il 18 settembre 1970, mentre la prima pietra verrà posata soltanto il 19 aprile dell’anno successivo da Max Wullschleger, al tempo consigliere di governo.

A sovrintendere l’intera opera sono stati incaricati, da un lato, lo stesso Panozzo e, dall’altro, gli ingegneri civili Albert ed Ernst Schmidt. La messa in funzione, invece, è avvenuta per fasi, dapprima con l’organizzazione del concerto di apertura di Carlos Santana l’8 ottobre 1975 e, successivamente, con l’inaugurazione ufficiale a complesso ultimato il 26 settembre 1976.

La recente ristrutturazione della St. Jakobshalle. A quarant’anni dall’inaugurazione, la St. Jakobshalle di Basilea è stata oggetto di un intenso intervento di ristrutturazione volto ad ammodernare una struttura nel frattempo diventata obsoleta. Dopo l’approvazione del progetto da parte del Gran Consiglio del Canton Basilea Città, e lo stanziamento di più di 100 milioni di franchi per l’opera, i lavori si sono protratti dal 2016 al 2018 in tre fasi.

La struttura polivalente è stata quindi aggiornata sia a livello di architettura, sia a livello di equipaggiamento tecnologico all’avanguardia, seppur mantenendo il peculiare aspetto brutalista esterno che da sempre la caratterizza. La riapertura è avvenuta nell’ottobre del 2018 e ha permesso di ottenere una maggiore capienza nell’arena principale, oggi da 12.400 posti, oltre a un miglioramento della protezione antincendio e delle vie di fuga, secondo il progetto elaborato da studi svizzeri come il Berrel Kräutler Architekten e il Degelo Architekten.

Non sono tuttavia mancate critiche da parte di politici e cittadini. In particolare, ci si è lamentati per una spesa finale che ha superato di circa 40 milioni di franchi il budget inizialmente previsto, oltre che un’apparente scarsa funzionalità della sala principale, soprattutto se paragonata ad altre strutture dello stesso livello in Europa, che ha richiesto ulteriori lavori.

In molti hanno poi proposto di dedicare lo spazio polivalente al tennista svizzero Roger Federer, originario proprio di Basilea, ma l’ipotesi è stata bloccata dal consiglio locale.

La St. Jakobshalle oggi. Al netto di critiche e inciampi sia in fase di realizzazione iniziale, sia durante la recente ristrutturazione, la St. Jakobshalle di Basilea è oggi una delle più importanti arene del Vecchio Continente.

Si tratta peraltro di uno spazio polivalente, ideato non solo per concerti e manifestazioni sportive, ma anche per convention ed eventi locali. Come anticipato, la capienza dell’arena è poi passata da 9.000 posti a 12.400 posti, suddivisi tra spalti e parterre, grazie agli ultimi lavori degli anni Dieci.

La struttura fa parte di un ampio complesso sportivo e ricreativo multi-sede di proprietà della città di Basilea. Sorge infatti accanto alla St. Jakob Arena, che ospita una pista di pattinaggio indoor, e al St. Jakob Park, il più grande stadio di calcio di tutta la Svizzera. Non lontano si trovano invece altri campi da gioco, un centro equestre, piscine all’aperto e la St. Jakob Sports University.

I principali eventi ospitati dalla St. Jakobshalle. Capienza, sistemi di sicurezza all’avanguardia e equipaggiamento tecnologico di ultima generazione permettono oggi alla St. Jakobshalle di Basilea di ospitare una grande varietà di eventi. La struttura è progettata principalmente come un palazzetto dello sport. Proprio per questo, al suo interno si svolgono diverse competizioni sportive, come i tornei di tennis Swiss Indoors e di badminton Swiss Open.

La capacità di accogliere un pubblico numeroso, tuttavia, ha reso l’arena la location ideale anche per i concerti internazionali e i musical. Recentemente, peraltro, la St. Jakobshalle è stata la sede di importanti trasmissioni televisive locali come Wetten, dass…?, oltre a essere stata il punto di ritrovo per una cerimonia buddista tenuta dal Dalai Lama e per l’incontro europeo della gioventù nel 2017.

A seguito della vittoria del cantante svizzero Nemo all’Eurovision Song Contest del 2024, tra il 13 e il 17 maggio 2025 la struttura ospiterà la 69esima edizione del concorso europeo con la conduzione di Hazel Brugger e Sandra Studer, a cui si aggiungerà Michelle Hunziker nella finale.

The Project Team presented the visual concept for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Basel and launched the registration process for tickets. Four national partners were also presented.

«Welcome Home!»: 36 anni dopo, l’Eurovision Song Contest torna nel suo Paese di origine, la Svizzera. Nella settimana dal 12 al 17 maggio 2025, Basilea – e tutta la Svizzera – saranno all’insegna del più grande evento musicale del mondo. Il team di progetto ha ora presentato il concetto visivo, sonoro e scenografico, nonché la procedura di vendita di biglietti. 

Visual and audio brand identity / Identità visiva e sonora del marchio. 

The visual and audio brand identity for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest were developed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve. His aim was to create a design that made people feel heard and valued. Inspired by the Swiss tradition of direct democracy, which revolves around listening and dialogue, Deyneuve chose ‘listening’ as the central guiding theme of the whole branding concept, calling it ‘Unity Shapes Love’. Deyneuve says: “If we listen to one another, we find love.” This message will also be conveyed visually through the iconic Eurovision heart symbol, which stands for dialogue, unity and the unifying power of music. The pulsating Eurovision hearts will therefore be a core element of the design, representing the millions of people unified by Eurovision to listen and celebrate together. 

Moritz Stadler and Reto Peritz, Co-Executive Producers of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest commented: “Artur’s well-thought-out design is emotionally engaging and takes Eurovision to another level. The Eurovision heart beats in time with the rhythm, symbolising the unifying power of music. True to the Eurovision slogan ‘United by Music, it will bring people together all over the world.”

L’identità visiva e l’universo sonoro dell’Eurovision 2025 sono stati sviluppati dal direttore artistico Artur Deyneuve. Il suo obiettivo è stato quello di creare un design che invitasse il pubblico a sentirsi ascoltato e valorizzato. Ispirandosi alla tradizione svizzera della democrazia diretta, incentrata sull’ascolto e sul dialogo, Deyneuve ha scelto il tema dell’«ascolto» come filo conduttore dell’intero concetto del marchio denominato «Unity Shapes Love». Deyneuve spiega: «Quando ci ascoltiamo a vicenda, troviamo l’amore». Questo messaggio si concretizza a livello visivo attraverso l’iconico logo a cuore dell’Eurovision, che rappresenta il dialogo, l’unità e il potere unificante della musica. I cuori pulsanti dell’Eurovision diventano così l’elemento centrale del design dell’evento, incarnando i milioni di persone, unite dal concorso per ascoltare e festeggiare insieme.

Moritz Stadler e Reto Peritz, produttori esecutivi dell’Eurovision Song Contest 2025, affermano: «Siamo profondamente commossi dal design accurato di Artur, che eleva l’Eurovision a un nuovo livello. Il cuore del concorso batte al ritmo di musica e simboleggia il potere unificante di quest’arte. Fedele allo slogan dell’evento “United by Music”, unisce persone di tutto il mondo».

Audio identity: tradition meets modernity / Un universo sonoro in cui la tradizione incontra la modernità.

The audio identity that accompanies Eurovision combines the traditional and the modern. It is based on a pumping and powerful beat, sprinkled with traditional elements: yodelling, the distinctive sound of a Basel drum corps, and the unmistakeable music of the Hackbrett and alphorns. Artur Deyneuve says: “We’ve created a bold, high-energy track, which will prepare the audience for an unforgettable experience with its pumping beats and surprising musical effects.”

L’universo sonoro che caratterizza l’Eurovision Song Contest coniuga tradizione e modernità. Le fondamenta sono caratterizzate da ritmi incalzanti e ricchi, impreziositi da parti più tradizionali di jodel, tamburi basilesi, salterio e corno delle Alpi. Artur Deyneuve commenta: «Abbiamo creato un mondo musicale audace ed energico, con ritmi coinvolgenti ed effetti sorpresa, che prepara il pubblico a vivere un’esperienza indimenticabile». 

Stage design inspired by Switzerland’s mountains and diversity / Scenografia ispirata alle montagne e alla diversità caratteristica della Svizzera. 

Florian Wieder, the Production Designer with Swiss roots, who is overseeing the Eurovision stage design for the eighth time, has taken inspiration from the Swiss mountains and the country’s linguistic diversity for this year’s event at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel: “Our goal was to create a revolutionary stage concept – a holistic experience that we’ve never seen before at Eurovision. Thanks to the immersive stage layout, the audience will get to be part of Eurovision like never before.” 

Reto Peritz and Moritz Stadler: “In Florian Wieder, we have a Stage Designer on board who is a creative visionary and who knows Switzerland like the back of his hand. He has succeeded in creating a ‘signature stage’, which will forever be associated with Eurovision in Switzerland.”

To buy tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, prior registration is required. This process will help prevent tickets being resold and ensure that as many Eurovision fans as possible get the chance to watch the live shows. Pre-registration starts today, 16 December 2024, at 4pm, and ends at midnight on 10 January 2025. To register, visit: www.ticketcorner.ch/esc. Only those who have registered in this period can subsequently purchase the exclusively mobile tickets. Registration does not guarantee tickets though as demand is expected to be very high. 

The first ticket sale period starts on 29 January 2025, a day after the Semi-Final Draw. The prices for the various shows and categories range from CHF 40 to CHF 350. 

In addition, on 17 May (the day of the Grand Final), there will be an ‘Arena plus’ public viewing area with an extensive supporting programme at the legendary Basel football stadium, St. Jakob Park (known locally as ‘Joggeli’). Further details will be announced in due course.

Swiss businesses are supporting the ESC in Basel: besides the existing international sponsors of the event, the ESC Project Team is pleased to announce the national partners Novartis, Basler Kantonalbank, Helvetia and Swisscom. The high level of interest and involvement of companies in the host city underscores once again the local support for the Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland. The organisation of Eurovision is heavily reliant on the financial support of sponsors. Meanwhile, the businesses benefit from an extensive partnership with the world’s biggest music event. 

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) will also be an official Eurovision service provider and will offer attractive prices on return journeys to Basel from other parts of Switzerland during the Eurovision week. Together with the regional transport company, the SBB will lay on 85 extra trains (running until late at night) to give visitors a safe, comfortable and environmentally-friendly way to get to Basel and back home again.  

The next key date on the road to Basel is the Semi-Final Draw, which will take place on Tuesday 28 January 2025.

Host City Guide. The City of Basel has unveiled a first look at the programme of Eurovision-themed entertainment that visitors to the Host City can look forward to experiencing in May.

If you’re heading to Basel for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, your schedule beyond the Live Shows can now start to take shape. The Swiss Host City has announced a comprehensive first glance at what both locals and visitors will be able enjoy as Basel prepares to welcome the world to its streets.Even if yo

u haven’t yet managed to secure a ticket to a Live Show at St. Jakobshalle, or entry to the Arena plus event nearby, it’s unlikely that you’ll find yourself with no plans while you’re in town. The programme of music, culture and Contest-related happenings announced by the City of Basel on Monday 17 March has been curated with precisely that in mind, so that no one ever feels like they’re missing out during the week. 

Conradin Cramer, President of the Cantonal Government, has promised that there will be room for parties, live music and dance, as well as experiences for the whole family: “For us, the Eurovision Song Contest is more than just a TV show. That’s why Basel-Stadt has put together an extensive accompanying programme. Not only ticket holders will be able to experience something very special. All those not attending live in the hall will also be offered something unique.”

More names and details will be added regularly between now and May, but for now, we’ve already got plenty to start getting excited about ahead of Eurovision week.

Eurovision Village. In recent times, the Eurovision Village has become a daytime destination and meeting point for all Eurovision fans who descend upon the Host City in any given year. 

That’s set to be the same for Basel 2025, but the Swiss are also putting an alternative spin on it. The Eurovision Village will take place indoors for the very first time in 2025, offering space for around 12,000 visitors.

Hall 1 of Messe Basel will be open daily from 12 CET and will comprise three central areas: a large party area with the main stage, a catering area with a smaller stage and the sponsor zone with interactive experiences.

The City of Basel has announced an array of former Swiss Eurovision participants that will be heading to Eurovision Village to perform for fans. The artists Remo Forrer (2023), Luca Hänni (2019), Timebelle (2017), Sinplus (2012) and Anna Rossinelli (2011) have all been confirmed so far. 

They will be performing alongside international stars such as Conchita Wurst (Eurovision Song Contest winner for Austria in 2014) and icons of ’90s dance music, Rednex and SNAP! The programme will be complemented by ABBA Gold – The Concert Show, local choirs, music groups and DJs. And of course, plenty of singers taking part in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest will also be taking to the stage, when they get a break from rehearsals. 

The hosts of Eurovision Village will be Tanja Dankner, Odette Hella’Grand and Joël von Mutzenbecher.

EuroClub and EuroCafé. If you’re coming to Basel to hear banging Eurovision tunes all night, every night – these are the two places to be. Both are located at Messeplatz, directly opposite the Eurovision Village.

EuroClub will be the party hotspot of Basel 2025. From 10 to 17 May, club nights will be held here from 23:00 CET until the early hours of the morning. The EuroCafé, meanwhile, invites guests to enjoy a relaxed start to the evening, from 16:00 daily. With coffee, drinks and snacks, it offers a relaxed atmosphere for fans, locals and delegations.

On the first night of EuroClub, Saturday 10 May, there will be an unmissable opening party taking place with Swiss DJs on the decks. The programme throughout the rest of the week sees some beloved Eurovision Song Contest faves take to the stage, too. Emmelie de Forest (Eurovision Song Contest 2013 winner for Denmark), Cesár Sampson (Austria, 2018) and Jerry Heil (Ukraine, 2024) have already been confirmed as part of the extended lineup.

The EuroClub is organised in cooperation with the Eurovision Song Contest fan clubs (OGAE) and the MCH Group, and offers space for around 3,000 people. OGAE members had a right of first refusal on a certain number of tickets, but public ticket sales will start on Tuesday 18 March at 12:00 CET, right here.

Eurovision Square. Billed as an open-air festival in the heart of the city, from 10 to 17 May, Barfüsserplatz will be transformed into Eurovision Square. 

Each day has its own musical theme, and these so far include: Jazz Day (in cooperation with Em Bebby sy Jazz, the long-running jazz festival in Basel); Classical & Crossover Day (where the Basel Symphony Orchestra will present classical and cross-genre sounds, among others); Hip-Hop Day (there’ll be a stage for rap, urban beats and break dancing); and, of course, Eurovision Day!

Transport. The easiest way to get to the Eurovision Song Contest venues will be by using public transport. And during Eurovision week, public transport services will be significantly expanded. 

Ticket holders for the St. Jakobshalle Live Shows, the Arena plus and the EuroClub can travel free of charge within the Northwestern Switzerland fare network (TNW), the Lörrach regional transport network (RVL) and the Distribus area.

After the shows, shuttle trains are available from Basel St. Jakob to Basel SBB station, where there are connections to Zurich, Bern and Lucerne, as well as to destinations near the border. On the day of the Grand Final, there will also be extra trains to Lausanne and Biel/Bienne after the Live Show has finished. And what’s more, there will be an extended night-time public transport service for overnight guests in Basel and the region, allowing travel into the early hours of the morning.

Eurovision Village. From 10 to 17 May, Eurovision Village is taking over The Messe and Congress Centre, home to the world’s most prestigious art fair, Art Basel. Here, there will be a daily programme of live concerts, public viewings and other happenings. The City of Basel has already released the first batch of names that visitors can loow forward to seeing. The Eurovision Village in the heart of the MesseQuartier (Messe Basel, Hall 1) offers a daily programme of live concerts, public viewings, food and drink stands and other activities related to the Eurovision Song Contest. Free entry. 

.Daily Stage Programme: The programme in the Eurovision Village will be hosted by Tanja Dankner, Odette Hella’Grand and Joël von Mutzenbecher. Former Swiss ESC acts such as Remo Forrer (2023), Luca Hänni (2019), Timebelle (2017), Sinplus (2012) und Anna Rossinelli (2011) ill be performing, along with international stars including Conchita Wurst (ESC winner for Austria 2014) and 90ies Ikonen such as Rednex and SNAP!. Numerous current ESC delegations are also expected. The programme will be rounded off by ABBA Gold – The Concert Show, local choirs, music groups and DJs.

In 2025, the Eurovision Village will be held indoors for the first time, in Hall 1 of Messe Basel. The Messe und Congress Center Basel is located in the middle of the MesseQuartier and, with over 141,000 m² of exhibition space, is one of the most important exhibition and congress centres in Europe and an excellent venue for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest’s fringe events. It hosts the world’s most important art fair, Art Basel, as well as over 250 congresses and other events every year.

• Conchita Wurst. ESC 2014 winner Conchita Wurst is a boundary-pushing artist and Eurovision icon whose powerful voice and unique persona inspire fans worldwide. Blending pop, electronic, and soulful ballads in three studio albums and many single releases, Conchita’s music breaks barriers and celebrates self-expression, resilience, and authenticity. From the iconic “Rise Like a Phoenix” to daring new sounds, Conchita captivates with every performance, redefining what it means to be unapologetically yourself. Conchita’s new EP will be released just in time for the Song Contest in Basel.
• Jukebox Dancer. Kilian Haselbeck brings his interactive dance performance Jukebox Dancer to the Eurovision Village in Basel. Inspired by a jukebox, spectators can choose dance styles at the touch of a button, which Kilian performs at lightning speed – from ballet to rock. The performance celebrates diversity, identity and artistic freedom and fits in perfectly with the ESC supporting program.
• Luca Hänni. Switzerland’s wave of success in the Eurovision Song Contest began in 2019 with Luca Hänni. His hit “She Got Me” reached number 4 and platinum status. Now he is back with a new show and fresh songs that combine modern pop sounds, gripping beats and passionate lyrics. He has won several Swiss Music Awards, was nominated for the ECHO and received international awards. With hits such as “Love Me Better” and his No. 1 album “My Name is Luca”, he is a permanent fixture in pop music. He is also a talented dancer, which he has proven in shows such as “Let’s Dance” and “Dance Dance Dance” on RTL. On Sunday, May 11, 2025, Luca Hänni and his band will rock the Eurovision Village stage after the Opening Ceremony.
• Remo Forrer. Remo Forrer made it to the Eurovision final in 2023 with “Watergun” – and went platinum for the song! With his first EP “Favorite Kind Of Lonely”, the Swiss singer-songwriter revealed his moving journey through his Eurovision year in 2024.  His new single “Underwater” was released at the beginning of 2025, showing a new facet with folk-pop influences. Remo is currently on Swiss stages with his second tour “Down to My Bones” and is once again inspiring audiences with his unique voice. Remo Forrer will be performing at Eurovision Village on Saturday, 10.5.2025.
• Timebelle. The duo competed for Switzerland in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Apollo”. The lead singer Miruna Mănescu (RUNA) is a trained musician and impresses with her powerful voice. Together with Emanuel Andriescu, the two form Timebelle. He has mastered the piano since childhood and later the clarinet like no other.
• Anna Rossinelli. Anna Rossinelli made it to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf with her song “In Love for a While”, laying the foundations for a successful career. Since then, she has released six albums, topped the charts several times and also made a name for herself as an actress – for example in the hit series “Tschugger”, where she played a convincing federal policewoman. Anna Rossinelli and her bandmates Manuel Meisel and Georg Dillier come from Basel and still feel deeply connected to their hometown.
• SINPLUS. SINPLUS, Switzerland’s Eurovision 2012 representatives, have rocked stages alongside legends like Roxette, The Darkness, and EUROPE. Known for their electrifying live performances, raw riffs, and unfiltered stage energy, they’ve built a powerful reputation. With two gold records and an MTV Award for Best Swiss Act, SINPLUS are now kicking off a bold new chapter: THE RE-SET TOUR: 6 months, 6 songs, 6 livestreams. • Oh G! It’s Drag. Odette Hella’Grand – probably Switzerland’s biggest drag queen – is one of three hosts of the stage program in the Eurovision Village. On May 12, 2025, the dazzling entertainer and artistic figure will bring an extra dose of glamor with “Oh G! It’s Drag”, she will bring an extra dose of glamor, music, dance and comedy to the Village stage. Since winning the Arosa Drag Race 2016, followed by titles such as Miss Red Lips, Miss Heaven and Miss Pink Ice, Odette Hella’Grand has been hosting, performing and producing successful shows and wowing audiences with elegance, extravagance and a pinch of outrageous charm. Standing over two meters tall in high heels, she not only fills rooms, but also hearts – and makes the world a little more colorful with glamour, wit and a good dose of self-confidence.
• Tanja Dankner. Music is her lifeblood: Tanja Dankner is not only one of the three hosts of Eurovision Village 2025, she is also a great singer, songwriter and initiator of numerous shows and live concerts. Stefan Raab produced her first album, since then she has been in the charts and is currently touring Switzerland with the show “RESPECT- the Greatest Soul Divas” or her own band. As a vocal coach, Tanja traveled with the Swiss ESC delegation to Sweden and Kiev, worked for various SRF and RTL TV shows, made a guest appearance in Céline Dion’s choir and sang a double concert with Leona Lewis as well as with Simply Red and Nelly Furtado. On 10.5.2025, she and her band will be performing her own songs and the best ESC songs in elegant soul-jazz versions on the Villagebühne.
• ABBA GOLD – The Concert Show. After winning the “Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson” in Brighton in 1974, the cult band ABBA became one of the most successful music groups of all time. With a grandiose show and super hits such as “Waterloo”, “Thank you for the music”, “Dancing Queen” and “Chiquitita”, “ABBA GOLD – The Concert Show” brings the glittering world of ABBA back to life in Eurovision Village 2025. Original costumes, a Swedish accent, video and retro light show make the revival and concert experience perfect.
• We Got The Power – The Ultimate 90s Night. On Friday, May 16, we will bring the ultimate 90s feeling to the Eurovision Village! Look forward to “We Got The Power – The Ultimate 90s Night”! A legendary show with SNAP!, Rednex and Twenty 4 Seven – live on stage! The German duo SNAP! will make the dance floors shake with their hits like “Rhythm Is a Dancer”. The Swedish band Rednex provides wild western party vibes with Cotton Eye Joe. Dutch Eurodance duo Twenty 4 Seven bring their iconic Eurodance sounds, including “Slave to the Music”. An unforgettable night full of nostalgia, beats and energy awaits you!

Here, passionate ESC fan clubs, music enthusiasts, and curious visitors gather to celebrate until the early hours of the morning and experience the unique Eurovision atmosphere.

Line-Up EuroClub. The program is exceptional: Former national and international ESC acts will bring authentic Eurovision vibes to life. Additionally, numerous current ESC delegations are expected, and various DJs will complement the music program with a colorful mix of “ESC hits.”

• Monday, May 12, 2025. Jerry Heil | 1:30 AM. Jerry Heil is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter known for her blend of pop, humor, and personal themes. In 2024, she performed alongside Alyona Alyona at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, representing Ukraine with the song “Teresa & Maria.” The song was praised for its emotional depth and powerful message, making a strong social statement. Her performance was regarded as one of the highlights of the competition and earned her international recognition. Jerry Heil has established herself as one of the most innovative artists in the Ukrainian music scene.
• Thursday, May 15, 2025. Cesár Sampson | 12:00 AM. Cesár Sampson is an Austrian singer and songwriter who represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon with the song “Nobody But You.” The song, a blend of soul and pop, received widespread acclaim for its emotional depth and Sampson’s powerful voice, earning Austria its best result since 2014. Originally working as a backing vocalist for other artists, Cesár Sampson gained international recognition through his Eurovision participation. He is known for his versatile voice and honest, personal lyrics.
• Friday, May 16, 2025. Emmelie de Forest | 12:00 AM. Emmelie de Forest is a Danish singer and songwriter who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö with her song “Only Teardrops.” The song, a blend of pop and folk music, secured victory with 281 points, earning Denmark its third win in the history of the competition. Emmelie, who writes her own music, is known for her clear, emotional voice and powerful stage presence. Her Eurovision success brought her international recognition and great attention. With her victory, she was able to further expand her career and released several albums.

The EuroCafé (situated right in front of the EuroClub) offers a relaxed contrast to the nightly party scene. Coffee, drinks, and light meals invite guests to linger. Its laid-back ambiance makes the EuroCafé a popular meeting point for fans, locals, and delegations. No ticket is required for entry.

Eurovision Street and Boulevard. Two party-spirit promenades that will connect the Eurovision-themed venues in Basel and serve as the ideal meeting places for Eurovision fans. Find out more

• Eurovision Street. Steinenvorstadt becomes Eurovision Street during the ESC: The nightlife area will feature street musicians and eye-catching decorations to match the ESC. Local businesses are involved in the planning.
• Eurovision Boulevard. The Eurovision Boulevard which stretches from Basel SBB railway station to the Badischer Bahnhof , including areas of the “Riviera” along the banks of the Rhine in Kleinbasel, connects the ESC venues. Decorations, eye-catching displays and activations create an ESC ambience, making Basel’s savoir-vivre visible and tangible for visitors from all parts of Europe.

Arena plus. The Arena plus will be another place to experience watching the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final live and surrounded by thousands of other fans, complete with a 90-minute pre-show concert. Tickets & Information

Even though the currently available contingents are almost sold out, fans can hope to buy tickets again at a later date. Information on the start of a second sales phase will be provided in due course.

If you don’t manage to get a ticket to the Grand Final at St. Jakobshalle, our Swiss hosts are putting together an enticing alternative. 

The Arena plus will be another place to experience watching the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final live and surrounded by thousands of other fans. A spectacular 90-minute pre-show – featuring national and international artists such as Baby Lasagna, DJ Antoine, and Anna Rossinelli – will energise approximately 36,000 Eurovision revellers inside Switzerland’s largest football stadium.

Attendees can then watch the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final live on gigantic screens, while being connected live to the show that’s being broadcast to the world nearby in St. Jakobshalle. Ticket prices will range from CHF 55 to CHF 128. Admission for children in the family corner will be CHF 5.

Mélanie Freymond and Sven Epiney will present the pre-show and the live viewing of the Grand Final at the Arena plus. They will also be live on air during the Grand Final to announce the Swiss points during the eagerly-anticipated voting segment.

At around 7.30 pm, a captivating pre-show will start with live performances by a host of international and national artists who will get the audience even more excited for the night ahead. The first names are already known, with more to be announced soon.

With the much-loved Rim Tim Tagi Dim, Baby Lasagna finished in second place for Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, winning the public televote from Eurovision fans all over the globe. The song has now surpassed 56 million streams on Spotify and was in the Top 40 charts in many countries across the continent. After he was able to turn his Eurovision success into an extensive tour to see his new fans, the future looks bright for Baby Lasagna.

Charismatic and always ready to get a crowd going, DJ Antoine is guaranteed to set the right mood on the night with summer-ready hits such as Welcome To St. Tropez and Ma Chérie, the most successful Swiss music song of all time. The Swiss DJ has already worked with Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Snoop Dogg, Madonna, Britney Spears and many more. Over 8 million albums and singles sold, as well as numerous awards won, make him the most internationally successful Swiss music export.

Extended public transport services. Public transport services will be extended during the Eurovision Song Contest. After the Live Shows, shuttle trains will run from St. Jakob to Basel SBB main station with connections to trains to Olten, Zurich, Bern and Lucerne. Public transport will also be available to take visitors back to the border areas of neighbouring countries.

Free public transport services. With your Eurovision Song Contest ticket (for either the Live show or the Arena plus event), you can travel for free within the Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz (TNW), Regio Verkehrsverbund Lörrach (RVL) as well as the Distribus lines. This is valid for the day of the event and until 05:00 CET on the following day for the outward and return journey to the event venue in 2nd class.

Frequently asked questions. Everything you need to know about the Eurovision Song Contest

When and where is the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 taking place? The event will take place at the St Jakobshalle in Basel in the week of 12 May 2025 to 17 May 2025. You can find the specific show dates right here. 

When will ticket sales start? The first wave of tickets sold out within just a few minutes on 29 January – now the second wave of tickets will follow on Thursday 27 March at 12:00 CET. The tickets will be made available at TicketCorner and only for those who have already registered and have not yet been able to purchase tickets.

How do I pre-register for tickets to the Eurovision Song Contest? Pre-registration is closed, you cannot pre-register anymore for the online ticket sales for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

Will there be another pre-registration period? No, there will be no other pre-registration. You could only pre-register once. This pre-registration was applicable for all ticket sale waves. Pre-registration closed on 10 January at 23:59 CET.

What is the maximum number of tickets you can buy for the Eurovision Song Contest? A maximum of 4 tickets can be purchased per access code, you can only use your code once. You are able to buy tickets for multiple shows, but at a maximum of 4 tickets in total per order/code/email address/person. If you book more than 4 tickets, your tickets might be cancelled. If you want to have tickets for different shows, you need to book these in 1 order with a maximum of 4 tickets in total.

What are the age restrictions for the event? There is no age limit for the Eurovision Song Contest shows. Children and young people under the age of 16 are only admitted if accompanied by an adult. A separate ticket is required for each visitor, regardless of age.

Where else can I purchase tickets from? We strongly advise you to only buy tickets through our official ticketing partner ticketcorner.ch. At a later stage, an official re-sale platform will be opened in case ticket buyers are not able to come to one or more of the shows they purchased tickets for. Tickets can only be offered at face-value (excluding applicable fees).

How will I receive my tickets? The Eurovision Song Contest is a Mobile Tickets Only event. This means you cannot download a PDF and print it and you cannot make a screenshot of the QR-code stated on the ticket. You can find your ticket(s) in the TicketCorner app. If you have more than 1 ticket, please make sure every ticket is personalized and transferred to the right person. 

You have to show your ticket at the entrance on your Mobile phone in combination with your ID. More info about the TicketCorner app can be found here.

When will I receive my tickets? Tickets are delivered via the TicketCorner app under ‘my events’. The valid QR-code, that will give access to the event, will be delivered shortly before the event takes place. Tickets can be transferred in the TicketCorner.app.

What is an Evening/Afternoon Preview show?

The Evening Preview Show is a full run through of the show that takes place the night before the televised version. On Friday evening the international juries cast their votes for the participants that are announced in the live Grand Final. Audiences can stay for a randomized version of the qualifier/points reveals, as the presenters rehearse for different scenarios.

The Afternoon Preview Show is a full run through of the show that takes place earlier in the day of the Live TV Show; it serves as one final rehearsal for the artists and crew, and it’s much more convenient for those who wish to bring younger Eurovision fans. Again, the Afternoon Preview Show features a randomly generated presentation of the qualifiers and points.

The Live TV Show is exactly that: a live television show. Audiences across Europe (and Australia) will get to cast their votes to add to the Jury scores. No randomizations this time – it’s all for real!

The duration of the Semi-Final shows is approx. 2 hours and for the Grand Final shows it’s approx. 4 hours.

How does the queue system work? Visitors who open the link to the order page on 29 January before 10:00 CET will be allocated a random spot in the waiting queue by the system. Visitors who open the link after 10:00 CET will join at the end of the queue. Visiting the website the day before sales start doesn’t give you any guarantee to get the first place in the queue. You are advised not to refresh the ticket page or you will lose your position and be placed at the back of the queue. When you get through the queue you will need to choose your preferred show and enter your access code to be able to book tickets. Please note: your code is unique and personal. If tickets are booked with another email address than the one in TicketCorner’s pre-registration system, your tickets will probably be cancelled.

Can I transfer my access code to someone else? No, codes are non-transferable and cannot be shared. 

Can I enter multiple codes? No. Only one code can be processed during each order. The access code is valid for a maximum of 4 tickets and for a maximum of 1 order. You are able to buy tickets for multiple shows, but at a maximum of 4 tickets in total per order/code. If you want to have tickets for different shows, you need to book these in 1 order with a maximum of 4 tickets in total.

How do I personalise my ticket? You need to personalise your tickets during the buying process. So please keep the names of your companions ready if you are going to buy more than one ticket. If you have to re-personalise tickets at a later stage throughout the upcoming months, a fee of CHF 10 will be applicable per ticket.

Can I join the next waves as well if I already bought tickets? No, you cannot join any upcoming sales if you have already bought tickets during an earlier wave. Even if you only bought 2 tickets, your code is only valid for 1 order max. If you want to have tickets for different shows, you need to book these in 1 order with a maximum of 4 tickets in total. If you didn’t buy, or weren’t able to buy, any tickets in one of the previous waves, you will have access to the upcoming waves. More information will follow when the dates are known.

I accidentally deleted the email with the access code. What do I do? Please check the deleted email folder to see if you can restore it. If this does not work, please contact the TicketCorner customer service department via esc@ticketcorner.ch.

How much time do I have to finalise my order? As you enter the booking page and tickets are in your online basket, you will have 12 minutes to finalise your order. Please keep your payment details ready.

Il codice è valido per più ordini? No, ogni codice di accesso è valido per un solo ordine, indipendentemente dal numero di biglietti acquistati.

Quanti biglietti è possibile ordinare per ogni codice? Il codice di accesso può essere utilizzato per acquistare un massimo di quattro biglietti in un unico ordine. Cosa si intende per Evening/Afternoon Preview Show?
L’Evening Preview Show (in precedenza noto come «Jury Show») è una prova completa dello spettacolo che si svolge la sera prima della trasmissione televisiva. Durante la serata di venerdì, le giurie internazionali esprimeranno i loro voti per i partecipanti che verranno annunciati in diretta durante la finale. Il pubblico può rimanere per assistere a una simulazione delle rivelazioni dei punti/delle qualificazioni, mentre i presentatori proveranno diversi scenari.

L’Afternoon Preview Show (in precedenza noto come «Family Show») è una prova completa dello spettacolo che si svolge nella prima parte della giornata del Live TV Show; funge da prova generale finale per gli artisti e la troupe e, come suggerisce il nome, è la soluzione più conveniente per coloro che desiderano portare con sé i fan più giovani dell’Eurovision. Anche l’Afternoon Preview Show prevede la simulazione della proclamazione dei qualificati e dei punti.

Il Live TV Show è, come suggerisce il nome, uno spettacolo televisivo trasmesso in diretta. Il pubblico di tutta Europa (e dell’Australia) avrà la possibilità di esprimere il proprio voto, che si aggiungerà a quello assegnato dalla giuria. Questa volta non è prevista alcuna simulazione: è tutto reale!

Non esiste alcun limite di età per partecipare agli spettacoli dell’Eurovision Song Contest.

I bambini e i ragazzi di età inferiore ai 16 anni sono ammessi solo se accompagnati da un adulto.

5. Eurovision Song Contest 2025: informazioni per i partecipanti che necessitano di sedie a rotelle / persone con disabilità (compresi i problemi di udito e di vista)

Biglietti per partecipanti che necessitano di accesso in sedia a rotelle: come effettuare la preregistrazione? 
Desideriamo garantire un’esperienza realmente accessibile a tutti. Le persone che utilizzano una sedia a rotelle avevano tempo fino al 10 gennaio alle 23:59 per registrarsi in anticipo. Questa tipologia di biglietti non sarà venduta online.
 
È prevista l’accessibilità per le persone a mobilità ridotta, con problemi di udito o di vista?
L’organizzazione dell’Eurovision Song Contest 2025 mira a creare un evento inclusivo e accessibile a tutti. Sebbene si tratti ancora di un lavoro in corso, abbiamo l’ambizione di rendere tutti i nove spettacoli accessibili ai visitatori con problemi di udito o di vista.

Vi preghiamo di indicare le vostre esigenze specifiche, come quelle elencate di seguito, inviando un’e-mail a esc@ticketcorner.ch.

– Le borse possono essere trasportate solo per gli utensili medici. Sarà richiesto un certificato medico.
– Le stampelle possono essere portate con sé e riposte sotto i sedili.

Si prega di notare che i posti possono essere raggiunti solo attraverso alcune scale. Pertanto, gli assistenti in loco saranno lieti di assistervi. 6. Informazioni su Arena plus (proiezione pubblica della finale dell’Eurovision Song Contest)

Cos’è Arena plus?
Arena plus è uno spettacolo con proiezione pubblica che si terrà nello stadio di calcio di Basilea in occasione della finale dell’Eurovision Song Contest del 17 maggio 2025. Lo stadio, situato proprio accanto alla sede principale dell’evento (St. Jakobshalle), può ospitare fino a 36’000 persone, che potranno vivere insieme l’emozione e la festa della finale dell’Eurovision. Lo spettacolo prevede un pre-show di 90 minuti con esibizioni dal vivo di artisti nazionali e internazionali a partire dalle 19:30 circa, nonché una proiezione pubblica su maxi schermi a partire dalle 21:00.

L’evento avrà luogo il 17 maggio 2025 presso lo stadio di calcio St. Jakob-Park di Basilea.

È possibile acquistare un massimo di dieci biglietti a persona. 

Quali sono i limiti di età per accedere alla proiezione pubblica Arena plus?
Non c’è alcun limite di età per accedere alla proiezione pubblica dell’Eurovision Song Contest Arena plus.
Tuttavia, i bambini e i ragazzi di età inferiore ai 14 anni sono ammessi solo se accompagnati da un adulto.
È richiesto un biglietto personale per ogni visitatore, indipendentemente dall’età.

Per Arena plus sono disponibili esclusivamente i Mobile Ticket. In altre parole, non sarà possibile scaricare e stampare un PDF, né catturare uno screenshot del codice QR riportato sul biglietto. I Suoi biglietti sono disponibili nella Ticketcorner App. Se possiede più di un biglietto, si assicuri che ogni biglietto sia personalizzato e trasferito alla persona giusta.

Ho bisogno di un posto con accessibilità agevolata, come devo procedere?
I biglietti per gli spettatori che necessitano di accessibilità agevolata (ad es. su sedia a rotelle) possono essere prenotati solo via e-mail: esc@ticketcorner.ch. A ogni biglietto acquistato per un posto con accessibilità agevolata deve essere associato un biglietto per un accompagnatore. Tale biglietto è già incluso nel prezzo. Questi posti si trovano nelle aree di Categoria 2 (Settore C, platea), nelle file posteriori. Nel settore corrispondente, è presente una segnaletica orizzontale per lo spazio riservato alle sedie a rotelle, che deve coincidere con le informazioni indicate sul biglietto. Il posto riservato all’accompagnatore si trova proprio accanto. Si prega di notare che il numero di posti destinati agli spettatori che necessitano di accessibilità agevolata e ai relativi accompagnatori è limitato e possono essere acquistati fino a esaurimento delle disponibilità.  

Biglietti personalizzati
È necessario personalizzare i biglietti durante il processo di acquisto. Se si acquista più di un biglietto, si prega di avere a portata di mano i nominativi degli altri partecipanti. Se nei prossimi mesi dovrà personalizzare nuovamente i biglietti, le verrà addebitata una commissione di CHF 10 per biglietto.
 
È possibile modificare il nome su uno dei miei biglietti?

Il memory ticket è gratuito, si applicano solo le spese di spedizione. Verrà spedito circa 2 – 3 settimane dopo l’Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
 
Sconto di 20 CHF sui trasporti pubblici con le FFS
Con un biglietto Arena plus potrà usufruire di uno sconto fino a CHF 20 sul viaggio per Basilea FFS il giorno dello spettacolo. Entro circa 24 ore riceverà il Suo codice sconto personale e ulteriori informazioni su come utilizzarlo, circa un mese prima dell’evento.
 
Utilizzo gratuito dei trasporti pubblici nella regione di Basilea
Il biglietto Arena plus le permette di utilizzare gratuitamente i trasporti pubblici nella regione di Basilea. Valido il giorno dell’evento (17 maggio 2025) e fino alle ore 05:00 del giorno successivo (18 maggio 2025) per il viaggio di andata e ritorno verso la sede dell’evento, in 2^ classe, nella Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz (TNW), nel Regio Verkehrsverbund Lörrach (RVL) e sulle linee Distribus. 2^ classe (2.) L’obiettivo dell’Eurovision Song Contest 2025 è quello di creare un evento inclusivo e accessibile a tutti. Sebbene i lavori in tal senso siano ancora in corso, la nostra ambizione è rendere tutti gli spettacoli accessibili ai visitatori con difficoltà uditive o visive.
