Stando a quanto ha dichiarato il presidente della delegazione svedese che, pochi minuti dopo la vittoria di Loreen, ha parlato nella conferenza stampa dei vincitori, le tre città che potrebbero ospitare l’evento sono Stoccolma, Goteborg e Malmö.
Per quanto riguarda la capitale, sono due le arene individuate: Il Globen, storica sede della finale del Melodifestivalen, che conta una capienza di 16.000 migliorabile con opere di rinnovamento, e ha ospitato l’Eurovision Song Contest 2000, e la Friends Arena, la nuova sede della finale della selezione svedese, che è in costruzione a Solna, città dell’area urbana di Stoccolma e sarà inaugurata nel mese di Novembre, con una capienza di 67,500 spettatori.
Lo Scandinavium Arena di Göteborg e la Malmö Arena di Malmö sono le altre due strutture individuate. La prima conta una capienza di circa 14 mila spettatori e che, con alcune opere di ristrutturazione, potrebbe raggiungere una capienza di circa 20-25 mila spettatori, e nel 1985 ospitò la 30° edizione dell’ESC. La Malmö Arena invece conta una capienza di 15,500 spettatori e con eventuali lavori di ristrutturazione potrebbe raggiungere la capienza di 20-25 mila spettatori. Non sono da escludere le ipotesi Nykoping, Sundsvall e Linkoping.
Il sito svedese biljett24.se ha già messo in vendita biglietti della manifestazione, dichiarando che la stessa avverrebbe alla Friends Arena di Stoccolma.
Un’altra ipotesi prevederebbe le semifinali a Göteborg e Malmö, e la finale a Solna.
A causa della concomitanza con il concorso ippico, Göteborg ritira la propria candidatura, rimanendo dunque solo Stoccolma e Malmo come città candidate.
Malmö Arena: The 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Malmö Arena in the Swedish city by the same name.
Malmö Arena where the contest will be held is a relatively new arena, inaugurated in 2008. It has a capacity of up to 15,500 for concerts but for the Eurovision Song Contest, the capacity will most likely be lower.
The semi-finals of the Swedish national selection for Europe’s favourite TV show have been held there since 2009. Malmö Arena is very similar to Hartwall Arena in Helsinki where the Eurovision Song Contest was held in 2007.
In exactly eight months, the focus of Europe will be on the Malmö Arena, where the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest takes place. We have a gallery of photos for you to look at as well as some interesting facts.
After much deliberation, SVT, the organisers of next year’s Eurovision Song Contest decided that Malmö should host the competition. The venue they decided upon was the Malmö Arena, conveniently located close to the city centre and the Öresund Bridge.

The 58th Eurovision Song Contest will take place on the 14th, 16th and 18th of May and will be the 5th time Sweden has hosted the competition, having previously been held in Stockholm (1975), Gothenburg (1985), Malmö (1992) and Stockholm (2000).
